Hound Hero Community Walk
Join us for a free, on-lead community dog walk — a relaxed stroll where local dogs (and their humans) can meet, socialise, and enjoy some fresh air together.
It’s casual and friendly, with time to chat at the end.

We meet on the Last Sunday of each Month (weather permitting). Our next walk will be at Truganina Park (Behind Altona Sports Centre).
We’ll meet by the ‘Welcome to Truganina Park’ sign just next to the car park.
Look for our Hound in Residence - Theodore - he’ll be in a Hound Hero Bandana and our Fetch Master Mike will be in his Hound Hero Baseball Cap!
Each walk takes about 30-45 minutes and finishes with a chance to chat.

Our Hound Hero Community Walks are a relaxed, on-lead stroll for local dogs and their humans. They’re free, casual, and a great way to socialise your pup while meeting other dog lovers in Altona, Williamstown, Newport, and beyond.

No booking is required, but we ask you to register to confirm your place, acknowledge our safety guidelines, and let us know if you’re comfortable being in photos. Just bring your dog on lead, some poo bags, and a smile!

Bring yourself and your dog! Friends and family are welcome too—just remind them of basic dog-safety (e.g. always ask the owner before approaching or patting a dog).
Anything else?
Dress for the weather—hat and sunscreen for sunny days, or a rain jacket if it looks wet. (This is Melbourne after all!)
