Some parks have grass. Some parks have water. Some parks have interesting smells.
The Warmies has all three.
And rabbits.
I feel this last point deserves considerably more attention than my humans are willing to give it.
Located along the waterfront next to Newport Power Station, The Warmies is one of my regular haunts and a firm favourite for Hound Hero adventures.

First Impressions: Excellent Sniffing Territory
The Warmies offers plenty of open space and an interesting waterfront environment. For dogs who enjoy exploring rather than simply standing around in a fenced enclosure, there's plenty to investigate. The smells are particularly impressive. There's vegetation, water, wildlife and an apparently endless supply of information left behind by visiting dogs.
As a hound, I take this responsibility very seriously.
My humans occasionally suggest that we should keep walking. I acknowledge their feedback and continue my investigation.
Let's Discuss the Rabbits
There are rabbits here…I know this because I have an extremely sophisticated nose and a deep professional interest in small, fast-moving creatures.
My humans, regrettably, do not share my enthusiasm.
If your dog has a strong prey drive, this is something to consider before visiting. The rabbits do stick behind the fences, but do present a distraction and the lack of access can make some dogs frustrated whereas others will move on.
Why We Keep Coming Back
The Warmies is one of those places where dogs can enjoy a genuinely interesting outing. Walking, exploring, investigating smells and taking in the environment all contribute to a rewarding adventure.
It's also a useful reminder that not every dog wants the same thing. Some of my Hound Hero pack members prefer energetic play. Others are content to wander, sniff and enjoy the scenery.
I favour a balanced approach involving sniffing, more sniffing and the occasional urgent rabbit-related investigation.

Five paws out of five.
Excellent space, fascinating smells and outstanding rabbit-related research opportunities.
The only drawback is management's continued insistence that we have to bring our own water, as there is no fresh water tap at this park.
